The Author

Amelie Tupponi
Author and Illustrator
Amelie Tupponi is a French-Italian artist who grew up between two cultures and two languages. Passionate about drawing since childhood, she studied visual arts before settling in Florence, Italy.
During her years in Florence, Amelie taught at the French School of Florence while exploring every corner of the city. It's this intimate knowledge of Florence - its hidden alleyways, forgotten stories, and discreet treasures - that inspired The Adventures of Elba.
Now a mother herself, Amelie wanted to create the book she wished she'd had when discovering Florence: a book that makes children experience the city, not just look at it.
Florence, her beloved city
Florence isn't a city you visit, it's a city you live. Amelie understood this by living there, walking its streets every day, learning its secrets from the Florentines. This knowledge shows on every page of the book: the locations chosen for the treasure hunt aren't the typical tourist spots, but the places that truly tell the city's story.
Why this book?
"I saw families visiting Florence dragging their children from museum to museum. The kids were bored, the parents were frustrated. I wanted to create something that gives children the power to lead the adventure - and turns the visit into a game."
L'Odyssee Revee
L'Odyssee Revee is the publishing label created by Amelie for her books. The name evokes travel (odyssey) and imagination (dream) - exactly what The Adventures of Elba offers to families.
